Ebola is a nasty, horrid way to go. It's deadly and incubates quite rapidly, usually coming in waves of outbreaks. Common sense in these situations? Stay the hell away from the person and their stuff because you will be contaminated. Seems smart enough right? Apparently it's not something that entered the thought of one individual. With yet ANOTHER outbreak in Uganda, a hospital quarantine wing was filling up and someone just could not help themselves but to take advantage of the patients' weakened state and began stealing from them. Karma however decided to put her foot down when the unidentified 40-year-old thief stole a cell phone from the Kagadi Hospita's isolation wing. Sure enough, police were able to trace the phone calls being made to the thief’s buddies. The would-be thief turned himself in shortly after, showing signs of the deadly virus, which he contracted from the stolen phone. Sadly the phone's owner had succumbed to the hemorrhagic fever and never got to see the cruel twist of justice.
I refuse to touch a phone if someone so much as has a hay fever due to allergies. Personally, I can't even start to imagine the mindset someone needs to be able to take a phone from someone with Ebola. Oh I'm sure there is more to it really. Horrid, virtually non-existent education systems, corrupted politics, the continent of Africa itself is more or less as third world as it gets outside of a few select areas, so perhaps the thief didn't actually know the risk. However I'm sure he'll second guess being naughty in the future, should he survive, that is.
